The only reason most people come up with for hiring a professional to do their upholstery cleaning is because they don't have the time.

Here's what you really need to know...
1. Most people will clean only the areas of the upholstery that they come in contact with. We clean every square inch of the fabric. Even the surfaces without body contact require cleaning. Our equipment is perfectly suited to handle this.
2. Some think the ScotchGard™, DuPont Teflon™ or other protective coating, that came with their furniture purchase, is a miracle product that lasts forever and never needs to be re-applied. (This belief probably came from a salesman that was willing to say anything to upsell the protective coating.) However, this is not true.
The protection only lasts about one year, especially in the areas that come in contact with your body, because it wears off. Cleaning also removes this coating. If you do upholstery self-cleaning, you're leaving the upholstery unprotected.
Protection must be re-applied in order to stay in compliance with the manufacturers guarantee.
3. The biggest misconception when using over-the-counter products such as Resolve™, OxyClean™, Woolite™ cleaners, Rug Doctors™ or Bissell™ shampooers, is the thought that they are good for your upholstery.
They Are Not!
These so called "cleaning products" are like putting a band-aid on a bullet wound. They cover the soil with a white, low quality foam and scrubbing pushes the soil even deeper into the material and locks it in.
When the foam dries it acts like a magnet by pulling soil off of anything that it comes in contact with. If a professional ever comes to clean your upholstery they have to fight the low quality detergent to release the soil.
Here's a simple analogy. You wouldn't shampoo your hair into a lather without rinsing out the soil and soap residue would you? This is essentially what happens when using these consumer off-the-shelf products.
4. Finally... Some people think they can take the covers off of the cushions and throw them in the washing machine. This is not recommend because they may shrink and won't be able to fit back onto the cushion. If the material is a natural fabric, this process may ruin the fabric.
